Christmas is coming ! Welcome to Paris and to the world of French Luxury. In the city, the most popular Christmas lights are those decorating the Champs Elysées of course but also some department stores such as Printemps, in the Boulevard Haussmann area, where we can see the most elaborate Christmas decorations and Christmas windows. Shopping experience is something to be remembered here in Paris – made of a gala of lights, sounds and old seasonal traditions – and Printemps is the place to be at this time of the year.
In the very heart of Parisian life, this store is much more than a shopping destination. It’s a Historical Monument built in 1865 by entrepreneur Jules Jaluzot which promises exceptional surprises. From panoramic views, on the 9th floor of Printemps Beauty-Home Store, where all of Paris is at your feet to the Brasserie Printemps with a gorgious and breathtaking sight of the Art Deco cupola, everyone is very surprised by the beauty of this so special place. Indeed, it illustrates one of the most beautiful pages of the heritage represented by this Parisian symbol. Today all the fashionistas go there to see the best selection of luxury brands and enjoy an ultimate shopping experience.
Printemps illustrates an essential part of Parisian culture and heritage. Jules Jaluzot was a visionary with a passion for commerce, he used to say that in the store everything will be «new, fresh and lovely like in spring time». That’s why he called the store «printemps» (spring in English). The tradition is still on and during many years of restoration starting in 2006 exceptional artisanal trades were united for bringing their best «savoir-faire» (mosaic artists, master glassmakers…). Then Printemps could offer again a slice of French History.
