This year’s Designer’s Days, celebrates it’s 10th anniversary. This extremely Parisian “parcours de design” (design path) will be held from June 9-14th Paris will become again an open show room, the huge window of the creation.
Instead of saying “Happy Birthday” the president Alain Lardet prefers to talk about the “Rendez-vous”.
For 10 years Designer’s Days has been the annual rendez-vous of designers, architects, interior designers, collectors, design lovers, sharing their emotions and creations with the large public. The scope of the event is to show that design is not the privilege of happy few, but the integral part of our every day’s life.
“The vocation of Designer’s Days 2010” Lardet says, “ is to be the platform that brings together the actors of design, their energies and wills through crafts and industry in order to spread the common message: design is the vital lead of the harmonious and successful society.”
This exciting venue in the heart of creative Paris will gather about 40 companies and partners who will present their creative thoughts and performances around the common theme: “10 years”. Ten years is absolutely the great anniversary to celebrate, but it is also the occasion to imagine and think about the future and to bring reflections about the development of design in 10 years to come. Several lectures and round tables will be organized during the event to share the ideas about the role of design in the modern society.
Among the participants some already well known and established as SAAZS, Baccarat, Christofle, Elitis, Maxalto et Silvera, Manufacture de Sevres and many others will be joined by new forces. For the first time Alessi, Tai Ping, Arte International as well as the well-known French company Roche Bobois will join the event.
French young design talents will also be privileged this year. Several design schools such as Ecole Bleue, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Decoratifs, ESAD de Reims will present works of their students.
Another good news! The visitors using iPhone and iTouch will discover the new way to follow the path. The new iPhone application will be available soon and will allow finding the addresses, images and quick description of scenography of each point of the path. Designer’s Days becomes interactive.
